But I just wanted to elaborate on my rushed blog from yesterday just a little bit.

It's really weird for me, I don't know, The Academy Is... is(teehee) one of the few bands that I've loved for a long time, that I actually have a possibility of seeing. I've been listening to them for about two years, although I didn't truly love them until last year. I've spent that year watching TAI TVs and random videos, and reading William's blog, and listening to them, and loving them (I'm falling more in love, with every single word that you say, I'm falling head over heels for you) more and more, but last night I finally got the chance to be there with them, and experience their music the way it should be: live.

And it was amazing.

They're all so much more attractive in person, if that's even possible. And the Butcher is a lot shorter than I thought. But I don't care for that beard much. And I have a crush on Micheal Guy Chislett now.

Anyways, shallowness aside, it was just really surreal, and amazing, and I can't explain how I felt. I didn't care that I was being crushed, I didn't care that I had a major assignment due (that I finished at 1:18 AM), I didn't care that I might not get Chizzy to say pocket for me. I didn't care about anything, and I just let go, and I just felt blissful, the way I always do when I listen to them. But that feeling was intensified so much more.

And Billvy's pants were sweet.

The Academy Is... amazing

So tonight was Bill and Trav's Bogus Journey and I want to document it before I forget, because it was amazing.

So first was Hey Monday, and they were really good, except there was this really annoying guy in a yellow jacket next to me, and there was this hick-ish guy in front, and he kept yelling, and being scary. But yeah, they were good. Cassadee acts like Hayley Williams, no joke, she does the same dance moves and it's really weird, because it's exactly alike. I got a few pictures of them.

Next was Carolina Liar, and I love them, but the experience was ruined because people were fucking MOSHING to them, and the whole crowd was being lame, and I couldn't stand, and I was forced to dance, and yeah. Then obnoxious yellow jacket guy had his arms up the whole time, so yeah. It was a little disappointing. But I liked the music, and that is most important (note: pimportant should be a word)

Then next was We The Kings, and they were AMAZINGGGGGGG, Travis has improved sooo much from the last time I saw them, and it was awesome. I just didn't like all the people who pushed to the front and then stood there until Check Yes Juliet. But even still, it was amazing, and I love them and even if I didn't record Feel Good Inc, they did a great job. I'm just sad Hunter cut his hair (except not really).

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the Academy Is... was dfdfdfajfkdjfalgjghagadfafsfdfa phenomenal times 511346489497951313. I can't describe it. William has stupendous stage presence and he looked like he was having sex or something, it was just ohmygosh, amazing. And Micheal Guy Chislett is more attractive in person, if that's possible. In fact, they're all more attractive, but I was just right in front of Chizzy, so I got to stare at him. But yeah, they were so amazing. I'm disappointed they didn't play Black Mamba, but oh well, they played Almost Here. Ahhhhh, it was amazing. And the lights were great, and Travis Clark joined in on a song, and so did Cassadee, and I loved it soo much. It was really surreal, because I've spent ages watching TAI TVs and videos and them and listening to their music, but today, I was finally in the same room as them. They really exist. They aren't just in my computer. It was an amazing feeling.
And I also made a fool of myself in front of Delicious, but then he gave me the best hug ever
And Jack the Camera Guy is amazing
and Sisky is SUPER nice
And I didn't get to meet Chizzy. Or make him say pocket. Or get a hug from Carden.
I had a great time, it was awesome.

I might add more tomorrow.

Pro-ana websites make me sick

So for biology, I'm doing a project on eating disorders. In my research today at school, I stumbled upon a multitude of pro-anorexia sites, called "pro-ana", pro-bulimia sites are called pro-mia.
They're really depressing.

From Wikipedia, this is a short description of those websites:
". Many pro-ana organizations state that they do not promote anorexia and acknowledge that anorexia is a real medical disorder, and that they exist mainly to give anorexics a place to turn to discuss their illness in a non-judgmental environment: some promote recovery while still supporting those who choose to defer or refuse medical or psychological treatment. Others go further, disputing the prevailing anorexia nervosa as a mental illness rather than a "lifestyle choice" that should be respected by doctors and family. One study defines pro-anorexia as "a way of coping and a damage limitation that rejects recovery as a simplistic solution to a symptom that leaves the underlying pain and hurt unresolved.""

But the thing is, most of the websites I've seen did not have any instances of promoting recovery, instead there were tips on how to purge, what foods to eat to reduce calorie consumption, THINSPIRATION. It's really saddening. Most of them are communities, with message boards or comments or profiles, or something, and people were saying "Wow, you only had 250 calories today? You're my hero" and things instead of encouraging treatment. In fact, few of the members of these websites did not acknowledge that it is in fact a mental disorder, and still strive for the skinny skinny bodies.
I did acknowledge the disclaimers, and I did not enter the sites which had them, because I do not support eating disorders.
I'll say it again: I do not support eating disorders.

Eating disorders can start off physical, a want to attain that "perfect body", or to attain control of something but then they become mental. How, I don't know, I need to do more research, but it soon turns into a disease that takes control of you, and consumes all of your thoughts. Even when you're on the verge of death, you still believe you're fat and need to lose weight. If not, then you've just lost control and your body rejects food for you. Eating disorders do far more harm than good. They cause heart failure, lack of brain function, irritability, hair loss, tooth decay and far more effects which aren't seen early on. I don't support them, because they're just completely unhealthy. People who have them lose all their friends, and are too consumed with their diets (as in their eating habits), to have time for much else. I also think anorexic people look too sickly and unhealthy, and I personally don't find it pretty or attractive.

But that's not to say I'm immune to body issues. I have a terrible, terrible self image. In fact, I've toyed with the idea of bulimia, thinking "Oh, I'll stop when I'm skinny", but thankfully, I didn't go through with it. For one, it's a hard habit to break, and two, I'll become even more unstable and unsure in everything. I don't think about it anymore, and I'm doing this research project to gain more insight.

Upon further research, I've discovered that Pro-Ana websites are angled in two ways: one way that encourages those with anorexia to quit, and if they aren't "ready", they're urged to migrate towards better dietary habits, like drinking water instead of outright starving themselves; but I only found one of those. The rest all had "Thinspiration" which is pictures of thin celebrities and models to inspire anorexic girls to attain that same level of thinness. Those are the sick kind, and those are the most prevalent. Those had few "good" dietary tips, and only included a standard disclaimer about how they don't encourage the disorder if you don't have, but they did not have the health factors to discourage people either. Neither of these are healthy, and both have a surprisingly large amount of visitors.

These websites are all gaining popularity, is the sad thing, and culture seems to be blase about the whole thing. Why aren't these young women being urged to get treatment? Why aren't health professionals stepping in and doing something about these kinds of sites? Why does the media perpetuate the image of the "perfect body"? Why are people still made fun for being "fat"?

Honestly, Americans should just strive to be healthy. Obesity is a very large issue, but so is the opposite end of the spectrum, and it seems to eradicate one, you must get rid of the other. Overall, it's a very tough issue, and I just want some sense of security, without having to worry if I'm too fat all the time.

And I FINALLY get to see them live tomorrow! I can't wait, at all, I can barely hold it in.

I put up with it, but barely. I can't take it. My music is so important to me, you know that, but I can't go to my shows because of your stupid ACL. I must admit, I am jealous you got to go, but I'm not holding a grudge. But since you were too busy having fun at your stupid festival, I can't see one of my favorite bands in the world.
You're so selfish, and you don't even realize it.

The lyrics for Decode by Paramore, are pretty fricking amazing.
It suits the Twilight fans (in a way), and it suits the anti-Twilighters like me.

But anywayssss this is part of my little impromptu series on bands that make me happy.
Technically, Paramore is up ahead of The Academy Is...,but it doesn't really matter much.
All We Know is Falling is just a purely amazing (I think I have an adjective problem) album. The lyrics are strong, the guitar parts are exhilarating, the drums are energizing and driving, and Hayley's voice is, in a word, phenomenal.

I can't explain it, but Paramore music makes me happy, because it makes me think. Even if the lyrics aren't [Gaskarth worthy {I'm still working on that word!}], the harmonies, and the passion in Hayley's voice just makes me think and feel and love and laugh and cry and everything. For some reason, their music makes me want to be a better person. I can't explain why, but it does. It's odd.

Well, I'm not going to completely denounce Riot!, but Josh's guitar and the hooks are more "poppy" for lack of a better word. I prefer the harder sound of AWKIF and I'm really happy they're returning to it for their third album.
I do love the CD, but AWKIF >>>>>>> Riot! by a lot.

I should also mention that Zac Farro is freaking hilarious.

Blue is my favorite color, has been since I was 7. Especially the color my walls are, that tropical oceanic blue. It makes me want to go to the beach and makes me just generally feel relaxed. That is why my Build a Bear Koala from my 9th birthday is outfitted in blue. Her name is Mackenzie.

Circles is my favorite ATL music video, for sure. They're all so young and adorable and it's just happy and fun.
I can laugh at the fact their instruments aren't plugged in. I can giggle at Alex's circle dance (it's the "new" craze!).
The thing I love about this video is the fact it's so simple, and it's just them (although Coffee Shop Soundtrack is very close behind it) and they're just being young and having fun. It's more entertaining than watching them do synchronized boy band moves.
There's just the little things like Alex's eye thing when he sings "I'll ask you if the rain still makes you smile" and Zack's position at the end (that's not what I was original going to say, but I couldn't find the exact moment) and Rian jumping on them on the couch, and Jack's giggling at that.
And it's also my favorite song by them (right now). Alex sounds so young and boyish and it's a contrast to how he sounds now. The lyrics are magnificent, the guitar/bass is afjddgjakhjga I have no words, Zack's back ups are awesome, Rian's drum beats are dhjajgiet33 I have no words again. Overall I just love it, and this is one of the songs that never fails to make me happy.

Oh, and no Diddy Kong! That's part of the reason why too, ahahaha.

They're one of the few bands that make me dance through my kitchen, and not care who sees. They make me feel like I can fly. They make me feel whole when I listen to them. They're simply amazing.
I was having a pretty crummy day today, for no reason at all. I guess I'm just kind of feeling sorry for myself because I haven't really made any friends yet. But anyways, I was feeling depressed, and so I just played Slow Down from one of my favorite albums ever, Almost Here and for 4 minutes, all my troubles and sadness melted away.
It's a powerful thing.

"Hold your head high heavy heart" has been my mantra this year. It's amazing how those six words can do so much for me

This was all I thought of when I was a Twilight fan. The ones with the white glow were made by me.
